Jake's FIRST try at bringing
TEAM GLUTEN-FREE to New Hampshire. Not bad for
deciding 3 weeks ago. We missed you Max....next time! Many people came by the
table to try Judi (nana's) Gluten Free Mini cupcakes and take one of Max's Eagle
Scout Brochures home/work,
etc... The local paper took a picture like this one, perhaps we'll make the
front page? Much awareness was raised this morning. Folks who are already Gluten
Free were SHOCKED to see us there! Others learned a lot!
We will be doing more...join us!

April 2009
NH
Governor, John Lynch gave Max a
Proclamation declaring:
MAY-New
Hampshire Celiac Disease Awareness Month.
Flyers were posted in Grocery Stores, Doctors Offices,
Schools and more in the month of May to help raise awareness and save lives!
Many companies and organizations in the state of NH will be helping with this
effort.
To see our HISTORY OF ADVOCACY: click
here: ALL ABOUT US
We started our company to help raise awareness
and to educate the world about:
Celiac Disease
and
SENSORY PROCESSING DISORDER
Home
to:
The
I Can’t Eat “THAT” Club
The
Gluten Detectives
Video Game for People on Restricted Food Diets
And More!
Here
are some of our goals:
*We
would like to introduce our club idea to all elementary school aged kids.
*We
would like to help raise awareness of food-restricted diets, not just Celiac
Disease.
*Help
other children and adults understand that “FUN” doesn’t always need to
involve food.
*Help
others develop a strong positive ATTITUDE about their restrictive diets and
hold the health benefits above the sad feelings that can be present
sometimes.
*Provide
information to the public about the different ways that they can help to be
compassionate towards people like us.
*Provide
information to people on restrictive diets, that anger towards people who do
not understand is understandable but unnecessary. At the present time the
general population has not been educated about these concerns. We hope to
help change this.
*We
hope to help others understand that expecting people who are not on
restricted diets to “STOP” eating in front of us is very unrealistic and
can cause bad feelings. Again, this is all in the ATTITUDE!
*Provide
ideas, hints and “tricks” on helping ourselves and others make parties,
special occasions and everyday easier for kids like me without too much
trouble. By helping others find non-food alternatives to games, rewards and
surprises. Not to say that no food will be present, that won’t happen, but
from time to time it would be healthier for everyone in the world, not just
kids like me to only have one or two food treats at parties instead of bags
full.
